Dr. Erin Goh Bing Bing presented crop monitoring, focusing on leveraging Earth Observation data to monitor the health and production of tree crops in Australia's changing climate. A crop biophysical model was developed based on ground truth and Earth Observation data to monitor countrywide tree crops that enhance the resilience of tree crop production to climate change in Australia. The model shows accuracy that outperforms other commonly used vegetation indices. Additionally, by combining Earth Observation data with cloud computing, the technologies allow a robust web-based crop management system.
