Monitoring Tree Crops through Earth Observation data
Assessing Climate Risk On Tree Crop
This research theme aims to
Understanding the current climate risks to tree crop productivity and cultivation constraint through evaluating the long term trend in temperature and precipitation using Climate Services for Agriculture (CSA) and the Copernicus ERA5-Land reanalysis dataset.
Investigating the Risk of Fire by characterized fire risk of tree crop regions using the McArthur Forest Fire Danger Index (FFDI; (McArthur, 1967) or similar Australian fire services.
Predicting future climate risks to tree crop productivity and cultivation using the Copernicus Agroclimatic Indicators to forecast five future emissions scenarios, investigate future fire risk using the FFDI and identify vulnerable regions.
Evaluating the feasibility of intergrating the climatic and fire risk information with existing Services such as AgScope, CSIRO and web-based dissemination.
